Lake Erie Metropark is seeking public input on a proposed new fish cleaning station and related amenities at a boat launch area and renovation of a bathhouse near the wave pool.<\/p>\n

The park is seeking grant funding for these projects, which are both designed to improve accessibility at the park:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Renovation of the existing restrooms, locker rooms, showers and entryway at the bathhouse near the wave pool, which is undergoing repairs. The bathhouse project is designed to improve accessibility, according to a release from the Huron-Clinton Metroparks.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Development of a fish cleaning station with accessible picnic tables, parking and walkways. The project would include a handwashing station and adding a picnic area and walkway for visitors to relax near the lakeshore.<\/p>\n

The community may participate in an online survey until Thursday, March 12, by visiting metroparks.com\/planning-and-development\/#FEEDBACK<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Huron-Clinton Metroparks Board of Commissioners will hold a hearing at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at 13000 High Ridge Drive in Brighton; anyone interested can attend in person or virtually by logging in metroparks.com\/meeting-schedule\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Lake Erie Metropark lies mostly in Brownstown Township, with the northern portion extending into Gibraltar.<\/p>\n

\u201cPublic support and input help guide the final design of park improvements and result in better projects, so the Metroparks want to hear from the community.\u201d said Metroparks Chief of Planning and Development Janet Briles.<\/p>\n

\u201cPublic input is sought to ensure designs are what visitors want and need in these areas of the park, and to help us improve accessibility,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The Huron-Clinton Metroparks will submit grant applications for the two proposed projects to the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund and the Land and Water Conservation Fund.<\/p>\n
