WYOMISSING, Pa. \u2013 Women’s History Month is underway, and a small business in Wyomissing is helping to bring everyone together in celebration.<\/p>\n

“Sunday was International Women’s Day, but we’re celebrating it the whole month,\u201d said Caroline Hill, the owner of Van Scoy Jewelers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

At Van Scoy\u2019s storefront in Wyomissing, women are lifting each other up.<\/p>\n

“I’ve invited all women-owned businesses that are local and small to come out,\u201d Hill said.<\/p>\n

Every Tuesday, there are new exciting guests.<\/p>\n

“Tonight, we have Kelly from Events by Kelly and Amanda from Dressed In Love Bridal Suite,<\/a>\u201d Hill said.<\/p>\n

“As a woman-owned business, the community aspect is just the most important to me,\u201d said Amanda Alger, the owner of Dressed In Love Bridal Suite. \u201cEspecially with the type of business that I own, I get to work with women every single day.”<\/p>\n

Alger says strong women in the industry inspired her.<\/p>\n

“This dress in particular, the reason that I chose it is because it is by a designer called Hayley Paige,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a designer who almost got her name rights taken away by a big box brand.<\/p>\n

“And she fought it all the way through the Supreme Court, and she got her rights to her name back,\u201d Alger said.<\/p>\n

Others at the event like Kelly Piccioni, the owner of Events by Kelly’s Florist,<\/a> say these moments highlight that one can do it all \u2014 motherhood and becoming a business owner \u2014 with the right support.<\/p>\n

“It’s the village that’s raising all of you, including your business, to help support one another, not just the family that you’re raising at the time,\u201d Piccioni said.<\/p>\n

Every day, women-owned businesses are making a difference in the communities they serve.<\/p>\n

“When we sell an engagement ring and learn the whole story,\u201d Hill said, she has witnessed the growth of women empowerment. Van Scoy Jewelers has been in business for more than 40 years.<\/p>\n

“More than in the past, there are a lot of women-owned businesses, and they’re very successful,\u201d Hill said. \u201cOur local chamber has an organization called Women2Women, and its purpose is to help women, support other women, and to help us grow.”<\/p>\n
