SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE\/WYOU) \u2014 Scranton\u2019s annual Saint Patrick\u2019s Parade is just days away. The city is getting ready to see massive crowds out celebrating. 28\/22 News Reporter Colby Hughes explained how businesses are preparing in the Electric City.<\/p>\n

Irish flags are waving in the wind, the green lines on the street are ready, and a wee bit of excitement is in the air. It\u2019s all ahead of Saturday\u2019s Saint Patrick\u2019s Parade in Scranton.<\/p>\n

When people pack the streets, it brings some extra traffic to local businesses.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re looking forward to just really bringing the people in. We\u2019re at a great location here, we\u2019re happy to be here, and we know it\u2019s one of the biggest days of the year in Scranton. So, hopefully we\u2019re just greeting people with a smile, doing our thing, and getting festive,\u201d Black & Brass Coffee Roasting Company Barista Julia Nocentino said.<\/p>\n

Scranton St. Patrick\u2019s Parade parking restrictions <\/a><\/p>\n

This is the first Saint Patrick\u2019s Parade experience for Black & Brass at their downtown location. They are taking things one day at a time but making sure to prepare as much as they can.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re fully stocked on milk, we\u2019re having a ton of pastries for the parade, just making sure we\u2019re fully stocked and staffed,\u201d Black & Brass Coffee Roasting Company Manager Felicia Lee said.<\/p>\n

At Cooper\u2019s Seafood House, it was a similar story. Preparation and decoration had already begun days before the parade.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re cooking up corn beef right now as we speak, and we have been ordering beer, and liquor and, stuff like that. Obviously, it\u2019s a huge, huge week for that; it\u2019s one of the busiest weekends for the bar in the entire year,\u201d Cooper\u2019s Seafood House Manager Jesse Cooper said.<\/p>\n

Cooper said they are expecting a steady crowd all day, starting with their brunch at 8:00 a.m. and lasting until they close around 12:00 a.m. The long day is worth it for these businesses as they take part in this tradition that\u2019s been around for more than 60 years.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, I think it\u2019s really important for the community as a whole to get people walking through Scranton, you know, it kind of motivates everyone in Scranton to make it a nicer place,\u201d Cooper continued.<\/p>\n

The parade steps off at 11:45 a.m. Saturday in the Electric City.<\/p>\n
