{"id":135961,"date":"2026-03-12T00:17:05","date_gmt":"2026-03-12T00:17:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/135961\/"},"modified":"2026-03-12T00:17:05","modified_gmt":"2026-03-12T00:17:05","slug":"lift-every-voice-philly-celebrates-new-school-wellness-policy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/135961\/","title":{"rendered":"Lift Every Voice Philly celebrates new school wellness policy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From Philly and the Pa. suburbs to South Jersey and Delaware, what would you like WHYY News to cover? <a href=\"#Section1\">Let us know!<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>Public school advocates connected with parents outside of a West Philly elementary school on Wednesday to celebrate changes to the district\u2019s wellness policy.\n<\/p>\n<p>The School District of Philadelphia <a href=\"https:\/\/6abc.com\/post\/school-district-philadelphia-approves-new-wellness-policy-guaranteeing-recess-bathroom-access-water-breaks\/18669082\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">approved a new policy<\/a> last week guaranteeing students recess, bathroom access and water breaks. In the past, students could be withheld from these as punishment.
