{"id":136691,"date":"2026-03-12T19:59:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-12T19:59:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/136691\/"},"modified":"2026-03-12T19:59:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-12T19:59:07","slug":"new-date-set-for-jewish-discovery-center-permit-appeal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/136691\/","title":{"rendered":"New date set for Jewish Discovery Center permit appeal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WAVERLY TWP. \u2014 Officials set a new date to hear an appeal seeking to reverse the Jewish Discovery Center\u2019s plans to build a dozen cabins on its property.<\/p>\n<p>The township\u2019s Zoning Hearing Board will hold a hearing on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes-tribune.com\/2026\/02\/10\/waverly-twp-zoning-officials-to-hear-jewish-discovery-center-permit-appeal\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">appeal filed<\/a> by Terrence and Margaret Neville on March 25 at 5 p.m. at the Waverly Community House, according to a legal notice in Thursday\u2019s Times-Tribune.<\/p>\n<p>The board planned to hear the appeal last month, but the appellants asked that it be postponed.<\/p>\n<p>The Nevilles appealed the permit issued to the center for its property off Miller Road, which allowed plans to build 12 cabins.\n<\/p>\n<p>The 865-square-foot cabins would be built behind a synagogue and home with access via gravel drives and walkways. Each would accommodate up to six people, with three bedrooms, three bathrooms and a living room.
