Scranton police arrested a city man after he assaulted a woman during a domestic dispute and then fled from officers, according to a criminal complaint.<\/p>\n
At about 11 a.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to a Kennedy Street residence for the report of an assault.<\/p>\n
Dispatchers told police the man had fled the scene, with a cross-body bag that might contain a firearm.<\/p>\n
Stephany Jiminez told officers Christopher Jiminez got upset because she asked him to move out during an argument and attacked her.<\/p>\n
Police noted Stephany Jiminez had injuries consistent with having been attacked, including a cut lip.<\/p>\n
Officers searching for Christopher Jiminez encountered a witness who said Jiminez had attempted to dump items in the area, tried to sell a computer tower and then fled toward the creek on Ballau Avenue.<\/p>\n
Shortly afterward, Chief Thomas Carroll found Jiminez at the intersection of Leggett and Loop streets and arrested him.<\/p>\n
When officers asked Jiminez if he had a weapon, he denied having one, but then added that he might have had an airsoft gun in his bag.<\/p>\n
A search of the creek yielded a cross-body bag, an airsoft handgun and the computer tower.<\/p>\n
Police found a baggie, a small amount of marijuana and a scale inside the bag.<\/p>\n
Jiminez is charged with assault, harassment and possession of drug paraphernalia.<\/p>\n
He remains at Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.<\/p>\n
