Downingtown, Pa. \u2014\u00a0The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP)\u00a0announced today the funeral arrangements for Corporal Timothy J. O\u2019Connor Jr., who lost his life in the line of duty on Sunday, March 8.<\/p>\n

The services will be held at\u00a0St. Joseph Parish, located at 338 Manor Ave., Downingtown. Public viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, March 17\u00a0from 4:30 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 18\u00a0at 11 a.m. at the same location; however,\u00a0this service will be closed to the public.<\/p>\n

Commonwealth Media Services will provide a livestream of Wednesday\u2019s funeral service. Details about the livestream will be released through a media advisory on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Corporal O\u2019Connor was shot and killed during a traffic stop in West Caln Township, Chester County, following a report of an erratic driver. As Corporal O\u2019Connor approached the vehicle, the driver immediately opened fire from inside the vehicle, striking the 15-year PSP veteran. The gunman then exited the vehicle, walked a short distance, and fatally shot himself.<\/p>\n

Corporal O\u2019Connor enlisted with the Pennsylvania State Police in September 2010 as a member of the 131st Cadet Class. Upon graduation from the State Police Academy in April 2011, Corporal O\u2019Connor was assigned to the patrol unit at Troop J, Avondale. He was transferred to Troop J, Vice Unit in October 2016, before transferring to the patrol unit at Troop J, Embreeville in March 2022. Corporal O\u2019Connor was promoted to corporal in July 2022, where he remained a member of the patrol unit at the Embreeville Station.<\/p>\n

Corporal O\u2019Connor is the 105th member of the PSP to make the ultimate sacrifice by giving his life in the line of duty.<\/p>\n

Anyone interested in donating to assist Corporal O\u2019Connor\u2019s family can send a check to the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association (PSTA) at 3625 Vartan Way, Harrisburg, PA 17110. The check should be made out to the \u201cSurvivor\u2019s Fund,\u201d with \u201cO\u2019Connor\u201d written in the memo portion. Donations can also be made online at\u00a0Support the family of Cpl.
