Public comments will be accepted on a proposed autonomous vehicle shuttle that would move travelers from parking areas at the Findlay airport to the terminal through fixed guideways, according to a report provided by PennDOT and the Allegheny County Airport Authority<\/a>. It would replace the current system of shuttle buses operated by drivers.<\/p>\n The multi-million dollar proposal would require the construction of additional infrastructure including new stations, a bridge to connect to the terminal and the guided track with magnets, according to the report<\/a>. The amount of passengers the automated vehicles could carry depends on the type of luggage they bring, ranging from 12 to 22 passengers.<\/p>\n Officials said the proposed shuttle would be the first of its kind at a U.S. airport.<\/p>\n
