EASTON, Pa. – The man charged with planting dangerous, sharp objects in beef sticks on streets in downtown Easton was in court Friday.<\/p>\n
He made a brief appearance before his preliminary hearing was waived.<\/p>\n
47-year-old Joseph Janko Hudson is being charged with animal cruelty.<\/p>\n
He’s being accused of dropping small sticks of beef laced with sharp objects in downtown Easton.<\/p>\n
Police say surveillance video caught Janko Hudson in the act.<\/p>\n
He briefly appeared in court Friday before a judge granted a waive of his preliminary hearing.<\/p>\n
“Our dog was pretty severely hurt so we wanna see some sort of consequence come down,” said Luke Saffian, Easton.<\/p>\n
4-year-old Ribs ate one of the pieces of food while he was on a walk.<\/p>\n
The rescue had two emergency surgeries to remove pieces of razor blades from his stomach.<\/p>\n
“He’s doing well he had the two surgeries at the vet but he’s recovering nicely he’s got his personality back,” said Saffian.<\/p>\n
As Ribs continues his recovery, his owners are hoping for justice and that this doesn’t happen to anyone’s dog ever again.<\/p>\n
“It doesn’t matter if it’s in Easton, it’s anywhere. I wouldn’t want it happening anywhere,” said Ashley Gonzalez.<\/p>\n
Janko Hudson is currently being detained in Carbon County on an unrelated offense.<\/p>\n
