DOYLESTOWN, PA \u2014 A major multi-jurisdictional sobriety checkpoint will take place over the St. Patrick’s Day weekend in Bucks County, the Bucks County DUI Task Force has announced.<\/p>\n
Beginning at 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, and continuing until 3 a.m. on Sunday, March 15, more than 30 law enforcement officers will be stationed on Route 611 (Easton Road) in Warrington Township watching for signs of impaired drivers.<\/p>\n
The operation is designed to deter impaired driving and ensure the safety of all motorists during one of the year\u2019s most traveled holiday weekends. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe want everyone to enjoy the St. Patrick\u2019s Day festivities, but the message from my office and our law enforcement partners is clear: do not drink and drive,\u201d said Bucks County District Attorney Joe Khan. \u201cThis is not a weekend to push your luck. If you plan on celebrating with alcohol or drugs, plan for a sober ride home before you head out.\u201d <\/p>\n
The checkpoint will feature a force of 30 officers from at least five different municipal departments across Bucks County, including Warrington Township, Bensalem Township, Middletown Township, Hilltown Township, Newtown Township and Newtown Borough. <\/p>\n
The Task Force reminds the public that Pennsylvania has a zero-tolerance policy for impaired driving. To avoid a DUI arrest or a tragic accident, the District Attorney\u2019s office recommends the following: <\/p>\n
