{"id":139352,"date":"2026-03-16T03:57:10","date_gmt":"2026-03-16T03:57:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/139352\/"},"modified":"2026-03-16T03:57:10","modified_gmt":"2026-03-16T03:57:10","slug":"ambulance-crash-in-philadelphia-leaves-infant-dead-mother-injured","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/139352\/","title":{"rendered":"Ambulance Crash in Philadelphia Leaves Infant Dead, Mother Injured"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An ambulance crash left an infant dead and the mother critically injured in Philadelphia early Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the Medstar EMS ambulance &#8212; a family member &#8212; may face charges,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcphiladelphia.com\/news\/local\/woman-infant-injured-in-crash-involving-ambulance-in-frankford-police-say\/4368626\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> NBC 10<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>The ambulance &#8212; being operated without lights or siren activated &#8212; reportedly ran a red light and was hit in the driver&#8217;s door by a Honda Accord.<\/p>\n<p>Upon impact, the month-old infant and her mother were ejected through the windshield as the ambulance flipped onto its side. The car veered into a building.<\/p>\n<p>The baby, Marian Harris, was pronounced at 6:17 a.m. by hospital officials while the mother suffered serious head injuries.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 51-year-old ambulance driver also was injured. The operator of the car refused treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Police reported they were notified of an unresponsive infant at a residence. However, they later learned the mother and infant had left in a private ambulance.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation is continuing.<\/p>\n<p>The District Attorney&#8217;s Office said Sunday night that no charges have been filed in connection with the crash despite information published earlier by the media.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"An ambulance crash left an infant dead and the mother critically injured in Philadelphia early Sunday.
