{"id":139597,"date":"2026-03-16T13:17:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-16T13:17:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/139597\/"},"modified":"2026-03-16T13:17:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-16T13:17:08","slug":"1-7m-in-security-grants-awarded-to-30-jewish-organizations-in-pittsburgh-region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/139597\/","title":{"rendered":"$1.7M in security grants awarded to 30 Jewish organizations in Pittsburgh region"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"rounded-lg\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/3fe236d9100cfc0327f79e8a4ae585da.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh announced Friday that 30 Jewish organizations across the region have been awarded a combined $1,728,440 in security grants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The funding was provided through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania\u2019s Nonprofit Security Grant Fund Program.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency administers the grant program, which aims to protect vulnerable communities during a time of heightened threats.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The grants are designed to enhance security and preparedness at schools, synagogues and other community organizations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh received $150,000 of the total grant funding. These funds will support additional security investments intended to benefit the Jewish community throughout the region.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Beyond Jewish organizations, the Federation assisted several partner faith-based institutions with their applications for the same program.
