Welcome America, Inc.<\/a> has officially unveiled new headlining performers and an exciting slate of brand-new events for the 2026 Wawa Welcome America festival, marking America\u2019s 250th anniversary with the biggest celebration the city has ever seen.<\/p>\n

Spanning 16 days from Juneteenth through July 4, Wawa Welcome America 2026 will once again transform Philadelphia into the nation\u2019s epicenter for freedom, culture, music, and community. With expanded programming, iconic headliners, and powerful moments tied directly to the country\u2019s founding, this year\u2019s festival promises unforgettable experiences for locals and visitors alike\u2014right where it all began.<\/p>\n

A Legendary Lineup Takes Center Stage<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s headliners read like a who\u2019s who of music, culture, and Philly pride. Queen Latifah will headline alongside The U.S. Army Field Band & Soldiers\u2019 Chorus in front of Independence Hall on July 2, delivering a powerful Salute to Service performance honoring veterans and active-duty military members.<\/p>\n

On the eve of July 4, Idina Menzel will join The Philly Pops for a patriotic concert in the heart of the historic district, while Eve, a proud Philadelphia native, headlines the Celebration of Black Music Month at the Dell Music Center. Gospel music legend Kirk Franklin brings his uplifting sound to Gospel on Independence, and global Latin music star Olga Ta\u00f1\u00f3n headlines Concilio\u2019s Annual Hispanic Fiesta at LOVE Park.<\/p>\n

Festival favorites return too, including DJ Jazzy Jeff headlining the Juneteenth Block Party at the African American Museum in Philadelphia, celebrating the museum\u2019s 50th anniversary. Plus, Pink Sweat$ will headline the brand-new Philly Fair 250, while Trixie Mattel hosts the Philadelphia Orchestra Free Pride Concert and Celebration at the Kimmel Center.<\/p>\n

Philly Fair 250: A Once-in-a-Generation Experience<\/p>\n

One of the most exciting new additions to Wawa Welcome America 2026 is Philly Fair 250, a three-day signature event activating the Centennial District from June 20\u201322. Presented by Independence Blue Cross and produced with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, the fair blends history, food, music, and hands-on experiences in celebration of the nation\u2019s semiquincentennial.<\/p>\n

Guests can soar above the city in a hot air balloon experience, try trapeze activities, sample food inspired by the original 13 colonies, and enjoy performances by world-renowned and local artists. Fireworks cap off Saturday and Sunday nights, while Monday\u2019s Community Day invites families from across Philadelphia to celebrate together.<\/p>\n

A Historic Liberty Medal Moment<\/p>\n

In honor of America\u2019s 250th anniversary, the National Constitution Center will award the 38th annual Liberty Medal to His Holiness Pope Leo XIV on July 3, outside the Center on Independence Mall. The Pope will deliver live acceptance remarks virtually from the Vatican, livestreamed to audiences in Philadelphia and around the world. The ceremony highlights the enduring importance of religious liberty and freedom of conscience\u2014values deeply rooted in the nation\u2019s founding.<\/p>\n

Free Events, Fireworks, Movies, and More<\/p>\n

From Free Movie Days presented by the Philadelphia Film Society to Free Museum Days, family-friendly festivals like Kidchella, and iconic traditions such as Wawa Hoagie Day\u00ae, the entire festival remains proudly free and accessible to all. The celebration culminates on July 4 with the Celebration of Freedom Ceremony outside Independence Hall, honoring the nation\u2019s past, present, and future.<\/p>\n
