{"id":140124,"date":"2026-03-17T00:20:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-17T00:20:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/140124\/"},"modified":"2026-03-17T00:20:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T00:20:07","slug":"philly-man-charged-in-luxury-vehicle-title-washing-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/140124\/","title":{"rendered":"Philly man charged in luxury vehicle title-washing scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-uri=\"www.audacy.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmmtsqamn000e01vqgln7hd11@published\" data-editable=\"text\" class=\"paragraph paragraph--station\">PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) \u2014 A Philly man is facing charges after officials said he used his business to run a fake car title scheme.<\/p>\n<p data-uri=\"www.audacy.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmmtssw8c001k357xqj0h7nyv@published\" data-editable=\"text\" class=\"paragraph paragraph--station\">The investigation into 40-year-old Adam Richardson began after a Pennsylvania State Trooper impounded a vehicle titled through his business, Richardson Family Enterprises LLC.<\/p>\n<p data-uri=\"www.audacy.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmmtssw8z001l357xcc0vk54r@published\" data-editable=\"text\" class=\"paragraph paragraph--station\">Officials then traced several stolen cars back to Richardson and uncovered a title-washing scheme.<\/p>\n<p data-uri=\"www.audacy.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmmtssw9l001m357x8rqfdjwz@published\" data-editable=\"text\" class=\"paragraph paragraph--station\">Attorney General Dave Sunday said Richardson titled 65 stolen vehicles valued at more than $3.8 million, with fraudulent documents between 2023 and 2024.<\/p>\n<p data-uri=\"www.audacy.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmmtsswa5001n357x8rrhgk98@published\" data-editable=\"text\" class=\"paragraph paragraph--station\">\u201cRichardson was paid a sum to provide falsified documentation to PennDOT, essentially requesting Pennsylvania titles for vehicles titled in another state,\u201d Sunday said.<\/p>\n<p data-uri=\"www.audacy.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmmtsswao001o357xjedkorjo@published\" data-editable=\"text\" class=\"paragraph paragraph--station\">\u201cThere was a quarter of a million dollar Ferrari, multiple six-figure Mercedes-Benz, high-end BMWs, and Cadillacs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-uri=\"www.audacy.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmmtsswdr001p357xf2a38p2i@published\" data-editable=\"text\" class=\"paragraph paragraph--station\">The vehicles were then resold online to unsuspecting customers or buyers who already knew they were stolen.
