{"id":140442,"date":"2026-03-17T08:12:12","date_gmt":"2026-03-17T08:12:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/140442\/"},"modified":"2026-03-17T08:12:12","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T08:12:12","slug":"thunderstorms-possible-in-philadelphia-area","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/140442\/","title":{"rendered":"Thunderstorms possible in Philadelphia area"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">What has been an eventful two months for the behavior of the atmosphere in the Philly region may take a volatile turn Monday, with forecasters warning of the potential for potent storms at night. <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">In its updated afternoon briefing, the National Weather Service in Mount Holly said \u201cwidespread wind damage,\u201d especially around Philadelphia west and southwestward was possible It said that some storms could be \u201csignificant,\u201d with wind gusts as high as 75 mph.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Straight-line wind presented the likeliest threat, it said, and localized downpours could lead to flash-flooding, something the region has not experienced much lately as much of region remains under drought conditions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Multiple rounds of showers and embedded thunderstorms are expected to develop in the evening, along with strong southerly winds.
