The strain could be greater for some who rely on the schools to feed their children one to two meals a day. “Losing food in a power outage situation like this on top of your kids, then being home, possibly because the school doesn’t have power yet, or for whatever the reason might be that it’s not safe to go to school yet. These families are really struggling to make those ends meet, and provide those additional meals for their kids,” Burrell said.The Food Bank can offer supplies ranging from a few items to a full restock.
