A South Philly film company is making big waves with new content and a new major platform.<\/p>\n
Four Olives Production, the creation of South Philly natives Mariano Mattei and Fabian Farina, announced its new short film and AI thriller Evelyn has been officially selected for the Jersey Shore Film Festival.<\/p>\n
The duo also announced that its film Sacrum Vindictae III, is available on Amazon Prime Video worldwide.<\/p>\n
Four Olives has four features streaming on Amazon Prime and the small-budget company has become one of the most prolific indie productions in the Philadelphia region. Four Olives has won more than a dozen festival awards.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe built this franchise from the ground up in South Philly,\u201d said Mattei, who grew up in South Philly and went to Central High School. \u201cFour features on Amazon Prime with no studio, no agents, no big budgets \u2014 just great stories and relentless hustle.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sacrum Vindictae III is the final chapter of their acclaimed action trilogy that are all available on the popular streaming platform.<\/p>\n
The trilogy followed the success of their first film\u00a0One Night, which was a romantic drama and won 10 international awards including Best International Feature.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The violent action Sacrum Vindictae movies follow an ex\u2013special forces operative in an action-packed revenge thriller spanning three films, all produced independently without studio backing.<\/p>\n
Farina, a St. John Neumann alum and Army veteran with advanced martial arts skills, plays the lead role.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The team of movie makers recently pivoted to Evelyn, which was originally produced as a short film but is being developed into a full feature film.<\/p>\n
It is described as a psychological sci-fi thriller exploring artificial intelligence and genetic engineering.\u00a0<\/p>\n
According to Mattei and Farina, Evelyn tells the story of a renowned geneticist who uses artificial intelligence to rewrite his unborn daughter\u2019s DNA, saving her life but erasing her humanity.<\/p>\n
When deaths begin to follow her childhood, a detective must determine whether the murders are the work of a father protecting his secret \u2014 or the evolution he unleashed.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvelyn isn\u2019t a monster movie,\u201d Mattei said. \u201cIt\u2019s about what happens when we replace uncertainty with optimization. With AI and genetic engineering dominating headlines every day, this story feels more relevant now than when we first wrote it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The full-length version is in the pre-production\/development stage and is estimated to cost from $1 million to $3 million.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The feature version is being positioned for prestige festival submissions, including Sundance, SXSW and the Toronto International Film Festival, with a planned launch strategy of festival premiere followed by a streamer\/theatrical hybrid release and international sales.<\/p>\n
