(WFSB) &#8211; The UConn men\u2019s basketball team is expected to leave campus Wednesday morning, heading to Philadelphia for their first-round NCAA Tournament matchup.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The men are the No. 2 seed in the East Region and will face 15-seed Furman on Friday night at 10 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A departure time from campus had not been confirmed as of Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The UConn women\u2019s team also enters the tournament, doing so as the reigning national champions with an undefeated record of 34-0 after winning the Big East Tournament. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">They are the No. 1 seed and will host the University of Texas at San Antonio at Gampel Pavilion on Saturday at 3 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">UConn is the only school in NCAA history where both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s teams won national championships in the same year, a feat accomplished in 2004 and again in 2014.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Fans are hoping to see it happen again this season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The men\u2019s team is set to spend the next several days in Philadelphia preparing for round one.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 WFSB.
