HANOVER TWP., Pa. – Lehigh Valley International Airport is now even more accessible for people with a disability. On Friday, LVIA became the first airport in Pennsylvania to launch the A-I indoor navigation app, GoodMaps.<\/p>\n
The partnership is making navigating the Lehigh Valley International Airport easier for everyone.<\/p>\n
“Someone like myself who might want that true turn direction, you want to download the GoodMaps app on with iOS or Android and you’re going to be able to get to where ever you want to go 100% of the time,” said Kevin Kline with GoodMaps. Kline is blind and uses the app himself to travel.<\/p>\n
Kline said the goal is to navigate the airport with the same access as anyone else no matter what your ability is.<\/p>\n
The app not only gives auditable directions but visual ones as well. “We have accessibility for people who might be blind or deaf, neurodiverse, wheelchair users and also 20+ languages as well,” said Kline.<\/p>\n
“Anytime we have the ability to bring on a tool to help navigate the airport in a less stressful way. It’s a priority for us,” Collin Riccobon, Director of Public and Government, LVIA.<\/p>\n
Local disability organizations are applauding the partnership.<\/p>\n
