PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — Philadelphia’s City Hall is known as home to the mayor’s office and council chambers. But it also plays host to rotating art exhibits, with its most recent ones celebrating over 250 years of Black history.<\/p>\n
The first is “Counter Narratives – Resistance and Resilience.” The second is “My Skin is Black.”<\/p>\n
With handmade dolls, colorful quilts, and more dynamic artwork, each focuses on Black history in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
The installations were organized by the Sankofa Artisans Guild (SAG)<\/a> and presented by Creative Philadelphia’s Art In City Hall<\/a> program.<\/p>\n It all ties in to celebrating the 250th birthday of the nation this year.<\/p>\n The exhibits will run until April 24, 2026. Guests can enter City Hall at the northeast corner near John F. Kennedy Boulevard and Filbert Street.
