ALLENTOWN, Pa. – An Allentown man has been sentenced to decades in prison for charges in a mass shooting that injured six people in 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Yunior Peralta-Quintana of Allentown, 24, was convicted in January by a jury for attempted murder, three counts of aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, and firearms not to be carried without a license for the shootings that happened on Aug. 25, 2024, according to the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Peralta-Quintana was also charged on May 7, 2025 with additional charges of Intimidation of a Witness\/Victim \u2013 Refrain from Reporting, Criminal Solicitation to Intimidation of a Witness – Refrain from Reporting, Intimidate a Witness\/Victim \u2013 Withhold Testimony, Criminal Solicitation to Intimidation of a Witness \u2013 Withhold Testimony, Retaliation Against a Witness or Victim and Criminal Solicitation to Retaliation Against a Witness or Victim, the DA’s office said.<\/p>\n
The jury also convicted Peralta-Quintana of these charges as well.<\/p>\n
In a hearing on Thursday, Peralta-Quintana was sentenced to serve 40 to 80 years in state prison.<\/p>\n
There was also court testimony at this sentencing hearing that Peralta-Quintana is a self-admitted member of the Trinitarios gang, officials said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Also charged in the case is Miguel Ovalles Ubri of Allentown, authorities said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Around 6:45 p.m. Aug. 25, 2024, Allentown Police officers were in the area of the 100 block of N. 7th Street near where the city\u2019s Dominican festival and parade had occurred.<\/p>\n
The investigation revealed an extremely chaotic crime scene that occurred that included surveillance and officer body-worn cameras that showed crowds of people enjoying the festival, including children and young adults, the DA’s office said.<\/p>\n
They were sent scrambling for cover after multiple gunshots\u00a0were fired at each other by both Peralta-Quintana and Ovalles Ubri.<\/p>\n
Multiple Allentown Police officers responded to the scene and arrived while the two were still shooting, according to officials.<\/p>\n
Two of those officers fired during this incident, but none of the wounded victims were shot by those officers, the DA’s office said.
