BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A Whitehall Township man who was found guilty in the death of an 18-year-old who was stabbed and set on fire in Bethlehem has been sentenced.<\/p>\n
Zahmire Welcome was sentenced to life in prison without parole, according to a secretary with the judge\u2019s office at the Northampton County Courts.<\/p>\n
Welcome had been found guilty of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit a homicide, and kidnapping to facilitate a felony in connection with the death of Tyrell Holmes.<\/p>\n
Holmes, who was 18, was stabbed and set on fire near a dumpster outside an apartment complex in 2018.<\/p>\n
Four other charges he was facing (arson causing death, aggravated arson causing bodily injury, possession of an instrument of a crime with intent, and kidnapping to inflict injury or terror) were declared a mistrial because the jury couldn\u2019t agree.<\/p>\n
Welcome previously pleaded guilty to a felony robbery charge back in 2018 and spent a few months in jail.<\/p>\n
Authorities also accused\u00a0Yzire Jenkins-Rowe, Alkiohn Dunkins, and Miles Harper in the killing.<\/p>\n
Harper pleaded guilty to aggravated arson. Jenkins-Rowe also pleaded guilty in the case.<\/p>\n
Dunkins was found guilty by a jury.<\/p>\n
