{"id":14368,"date":"2025-10-25T02:29:06","date_gmt":"2025-10-25T02:29:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/14368\/"},"modified":"2025-10-25T02:29:06","modified_gmt":"2025-10-25T02:29:06","slug":"pittsburgh-police-to-host-recruitment-expo-with-specialty-units-wpxi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/14368\/","title":{"rendered":"Pittsburgh police to host recruitment expo with specialty units \u2013 WPXI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">PITTSBURGH \u2014 Pittsburgh police are hosting a recruitment expo.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The event runs from 5-8 p.m. today, Friday, at the Pittsburgh Police Headquarters located at 1203 Western Ave. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Anyone interested in a career in law enforcement can chat with officers and detectives.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Specialty units will also be on hand, including SWAT, the bomb squad, the K-9 unit and the drone unit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">This is the first time Pittsburgh police have hosted an event like this. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">\u201cInstead of just speaking to one or two people at a recruitment fair, they\u2019re going to get to speak to the detectives and officers that are actually doing those types of jobs every day, see the equipment they use and potentially answer any questions they have to a higher degree of accuracy,\u201d said Cmdr.
