(KWQC) &#8211; Students and staff at Erie School District spent the week raising money for the Millie Moo Foundation, created in honor of a 6-month-old girl whose story has touched the community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">On Sept. 4, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kwqc.com\/2025\/11\/27\/hope-farm-family-honors-6-month-old-daughters-life-after-passing-rare-cancer\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.kwqc.com\/2025\/11\/27\/hope-farm-family-honors-6-month-old-daughters-life-after-passing-rare-cancer\/\">Millie Declercq<\/a> was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive pediatric cancer called malignant rhabdoid tumor. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">She immediately began her first round of chemotherapy, but despite every effort and her incredible strength, Millie died on Sept. 22.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Her family later started the Millie Moo Foundation to support other families navigating pediatric cancer and to keep her name and memory alive.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The foundation provides financial assistance to families facing pediatric cancer. <\/p>\n<p>Fundraiser week activities<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Throughout the week, students and staff participated in dress-up days, games, contests and special events to raise money for families facing pediatric cancer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">For Millie\u2019s family, the continued involvement from the community reflects the kind of legacy they hoped to build \u2014 one that turns loss into support for others.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">For more information or to make a donation, visit the foundation\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themilliemoofoundation.org\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.themilliemoofoundation.org\/\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 KWQC.
