The watch indicates conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes and severe thunderstorms.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"661\" data-start=\"349\">The following school districts have announced cancellations:<\/p>\n<p>Abington School DistrictHatboro-Horsham School DistrictNorth Penn School DistrictLansdale Catholic High School (Archdiocese of Philadelphia)Perkiomen Valley School DistrictThe Rose Tree Media School DistrictThe Rose Tree Media School Distric|Upper Darby School DistrictUpper Dublin School DistrictMarple Newtown School DistrictSchool District of Haverford TownshipCheltenham Township School DistrictUpper Perkiomen School District (closing 2 hours early)Delaware County Christian School (closing 2 hours early)<\/p>\n<p>Forecasters warn the storms could bring damaging wind gusts up to 80 mph, isolated hail up to the size of a quarter and the possibility of a few tornadoes across the watch area.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1110\" data-start=\"842\">Because of the threat of severe weather during the late afternoon and evening hours, school officials said all after-school activities, athletics, clubs and evening events across the district have been canceled to ensure the safety of students, staff and families.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1110\" data-start=\"842\">&#8220;All students are encouraged to go home immediately following the school day,&#8221; wrote Lansdale Catholic, in Montgomery County, on its Facebook.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1402\" data-start=\"1112\">Emergency management officials are urging residents to secure outdoor furniture and remain weather aware as storms approach.
