ADAMS COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) \u2014 Hit rapper Afroman recently won a lawsuit from seven Adams County Sheriffs in Ohio, but as strange as the lawsuit turned out, it became a bizarre moment in Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n
Afroman, real name Joseph Foreman, was being sued by seven officers for defamation after the rapper used his home security footage of a raid at his residence to mock the sheriffs via music videos, including the popular song \u201cLemon Pound Cake.\u201d<\/p>\n
The lawsuit didn\u2019t go in the officers\u2019 favor, which many said was also a win for the First Amendment, and that free speech certainly carried over to Adams County, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n
After the results of the lawsuit, Adams County (Pa.) Sheriff Joshua Fitting had to take to social media after being bombarded with phone calls from across the country over Afroman\u2019s \u201carrest.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNews update: We Did Not\u2026arrest Rapper AfroMan,\u201d Fitting wrote. \u201cWhile we love all the calls and the colorful language with accents from around the county, I assure you it wasn\u2019t this Adams County\u2026..We ask you Please verify the state before you call, voicing your frustration that our deputies arrested AfroMan. As always, our commitment is to the community, transparency and sometimes a little humor.\u201d<\/p>\n
His song \u201cLemon Pound Cake\u201d comes after one of the officers, seen in Afroman\u2019s kitchen with his gun drawn, did a but of a second take when he noticed a lemon pound cake on the counter. Other lyrics from his music included him saying he slept with one of the officers\u2019 wives.<\/p>\n
Despite multiple officers testifying and claiming defamation, Afroman only called one witness \u2014 one of the officers\u2019 ex-wives.<\/p>\n
According to the rapper, he was in Chicago at the time of the raid and was called by neighbors to alert him of police presence. It was also stated that money was missing from his home afterwards.<\/p>\n
