On Monday, state Rep. Ana T. Tiburcio, D-Lehigh, took the oath of office to represent Pennsylvania\u2019s 22nd Legislative District.<\/p>\n

According to a press release from the House Democratic Communications Office, Tiburcio was elected to the office on Feb. 24 in a special election. She replaces Josh Siegel, who resigned at the end of 2025 to become Lehigh County executive.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is an honor to serve the people of Lehigh County and Allentown, where I\u2019ve lived for nearly three decades,\u201d said Tiburcio. \u201cI am grateful for the opportunity to continue my work promoting education, youth empowerment, employment opportunities, and community revitalization in the 22nd Legislative District. And I am thrilled to join the PA House Democratic Caucus as one of a record number of women representatives, especially during Women\u2019s History Month.\u201d<\/p>\n

Officials say prior to her swearing in, Tiburcio served on the Allentown School District Board of Directors from 2023-26. She also served as program coordinator for Fine Feather Foundation, a nonprofit empowering youth through creativity, education, and mentorship. The release says she is the owner of A&M Tax & Services and is involved with Allentown Works, and the Allentown city beautification project Love Your Block. She was also part of Allentown Blueprint Communities.<\/p>\n
