The Pittsburgh Steelers have re-signed offensive lineman Ryan McCollum<\/a> to a one-year contract, the team announced<\/a> on Friday. The details of that contract have now been revealed. According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, McCollum\u2019s one year deal is worth $1.332 million, including a $75,000 signing bonus. His salary in 2026 will be $1.145 million. <\/p>\n

McCollum, 28, had been a restricted free agent, but was not tendered a contract<\/a> by the team before the March 11 deadline. To retain his rights as a restricted free agent, the Steelers had to offer McCollum a contract worth $3.52 million for the 2026 season. McCollum played under a one-year, $1.04 million contract in 2025.<\/p>\n

The team\u2019s backup center for the last two seasons, McCollum has made three starts in four years with the\u00a0Steelers, two in 2024 and one last year, all in place of Zach Frazier<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Steelers originally claimed the 6-foot-5, 300-pound Texas A&M alum off of waivers from the Detroit Lions on Aug. 16, 2022. He was waived at the end of training camp and re-signed to the practice squad, where he spent almost all of the 2022 season and the entire 2023 season, without being elevated or playing in a regular-season game.<\/p>\n

In 2024, McCollum started the season third on the team\u2019s depth chart at center, but was thrust into action after injuries to both Nate Herbig<\/a> and Frazier. McCollum played in all 17 games for the first time in his career and made two starts in relief of Frazier.<\/p>\n

He was not called on as often in 2025, again appearing in all 17 games, but starting just once in place of Frazier.<\/p>\n

McCollum will figure to once again be the primary backup to Frazier in 2026, as well as provide additional depth at guard.<\/p>\n
