After a disappointing end to the 2025 NFL<\/a> season, with the Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> flaming out in the playoffs against the Houston Texans<\/a>\u2018 stout defense, legendary head coach Mike Tomlin, who spent 19 seasons with the storied franchise, decided to step down.<\/p>\n

Although there had been a lot of speculation about Tomlin\u2019s future with the Steelers for quite some time, it was a little surprising to see him step away from the job he had held for nearly two decades, especially given his success as the head coach in Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n

Tomlin led the Steelers to a Super Bowl title and finished his stint with the team with 13 playoff appearances and never a losing record in Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n

Following Tomlin\u2019s decision to step down as Steelers head coach, a position Mike McCarthy now holds in Pittsburgh, rumors have been circulating about his immediate future, whether it\u2019s another NFL head coaching job or a media role.<\/p>\n

According to Ryan Gasspiegel of Front Office Sports<\/a>, Tomlin will indeed take a stab at working in the media as an analyst, as he has hired an agent.<\/p>\n

Mike Tomlin is testing the TV market waters.<\/p>\n

The former Steelers head coach has signed with longtime sports media agent Sandy Montag, sources told\u00a0Front Office Sports.<\/p>\n

Apparently, Montag has quite the resume as representation for some of the biggest names in the field that Tomlin is trying to get into.<\/p>\n

Montag, the founder of The Montag Group, now a division of The Team (formerly Wasserman), also represents Mike Tirico, Jim Nantz, Scott Van Pelt, James Brown, and Dick Vitale. He was famously the agent for the late John Madden.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s safe to assume that Tomlin will have no trouble finding an opportunity in the media field with this kind of help from Montag.<\/p>\n

With the Tomlin era coming to an end in Pittsburgh, McCarthy will have the tall task of addressing the quarterback position, with the team still holding out hope that four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers<\/a> will come back for at least one more season.<\/p>\n

McCarthy does have the advantage of winning a Super Bowl coaching Rodgers with the Green Bay Packers<\/a>, but there\u2019s still uncertainty in the air heading into the NFL offseason.<\/p>\n

The new Steelers head coach was recently asked about a possible reunion with Rodgers in Pittsburgh, via Rob Demovsky of ESPN<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Can\u2019t take the journalist out of Kevin Harlan. Even as the emcee of his father\u2019s celebration of life at Lambeau Field, he had to ask Mike McCarthy about a possible reunion with Aaron Rodgers in Pittsburgh: <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019d be a great story,\u201d McCarthy said of Rodgers returning. \u201cI don\u2019t know [if he\u2019s going to play], and I would love to tell everybody breaking news. But it\u2019s really cool to see Aaron at 42. To see a young man at 22 and all of what he\u2019s been able to accomplish, and where he\u2019s at in his personal life and trying to make the decision.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s in a really good place.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019ll be interesting to see how all this pans out and whether Rodgers tries to give it another shot in a Steelers uniform with his former Packers coach leading the charge on the sideline.<\/p>\n
