BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA \u2014 Marc Cohen is running for a seat on the Bensalem Township School Board in the Nov. 4 general election.<\/p>\n
Cohen, a Republican incumbent school director, is among eight candidates running for four, four-year terms on the nine-member school board.<\/p>\n
The candidates are Republicans Marc Cohen, Sheldon Per, Abby Koss and Lee Schum facing Democrats Kate Pascucci, Leann Hart, Rachel Fingles, and Rodger Allen.<\/p>\n

1. How will the middle school debate impact the school board race? <\/p>\n
The district is in need of a new middle school. The final decision on how best to proceed involves a multitude of factors that will impact students, staff, and taxpayers throughout the district for years to come, and I believe that these decisions are best made after the election to keep this important project from becoming a political football.<\/p>\n
2. What educational background do you bring to the position? <\/p>\n
My background is in business. I\u2019m very proud of my dad. He was a great Philadelphia educator. I learned so much from him about how the school systems work.<\/p>\n
3. What are the biggest challenges to the school district in the future? <\/p>\n
Funding of the district is always the most important.
