Jason Dawkins, D-Philadelphia, would gradually boost the statewide minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $11 in 2027, $13 in 2028, and reach $15 the following year, with automatic cost-of-living adjustments thereafter.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been my mission to provide a living wage for all working Pennsylvanians,\u201d Dawkins said in a statement following the vote. \u201cIf you work hard, you shouldn\u2019t have to worry about your next meal or having a roof over your head.\u201d\n  <\/p>\n<p>Four Republicans joined Democrats to advance the bill: Rep. Joe Emrick of Northampton, Rep. Natalie Mihalek of Allegheny, and Reps. Joe Hogan and Kathleen Tomlinson of Bucks.\n<\/p>\n<p>However, the bill faces a bigger challenge in the state Senate, where Republicans make up the majority. Democrats previously failed in their efforts to pass similar legislation in <a href=\"https:\/\/whyy.org\/articles\/pa-house-passes-15-minimum-wage-bill\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2023<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/whyy.org\/articles\/pennsylvania-governor-josh-shapiro-15-an-hour-minimum-wage-push-budget-address\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2024<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/penncapital-star.com\/economy\/pa-house-passes-bill-to-raise-the-minimum-wage\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">again last year<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>Gov.
