{"id":148755,"date":"2026-03-26T05:28:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-26T05:28:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/148755\/"},"modified":"2026-03-26T05:28:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T05:28:07","slug":"eynon-archbald-lions-to-hold-annual-easter-egg-hunt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/148755\/","title":{"rendered":"Eynon-Archbald Lions to hold annual Easter egg hunt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Eynon-Archbald Lions Club is bringing Easter cheer to area children and families at its annual Easter egg hunt, a tradition for over a decade.<\/p>\n<p>The free community event will be held Saturday, March 28, at 1 p.m. at the Archbald Community Ambulance and Rescue Squad, 195 Delaware St. The rain date is Sunday, March 29.<\/p>\n<p>The Eynon-Archbald Lions have put on the Easter egg hunt for 13 years, said Erin Owen, the club\u2019s vice president.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to this wonderful event each and every year,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Over 250 children attend the event annually, Owen said. More than 1,000 Easter eggs are stuffed with candy and toys.<\/p>\n<p>Archbald Borough is donating Easter baskets and other goodies \u201cas a token of their appreciation and celebration of the borough\u2019s 150th birthday,\u201d said Owen, who is also a borough councilwoman.<\/p>\n<p>Each child will receive a candy bag and an Easter basket, Owen said. Kids will also have the opportunity to have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny at no cost.<\/p>\n<p>All children in attendance will have the chance to win one of four bikes in a free raffle.<\/p>\n<p>The Eynon-Archbald Lions\u2019 annual Easter egg hunt also includes an Easter bonnet contest for the kids. Children can win prizes by being nominated in different categories, Owen said.<\/p>\n<p>The club likes to change up the categories from year to year, which can include prettiest and funniest, Owen said.<\/p>\n<p>The Easter egg hunt allows the Eynon-Archbald Lions to engage with the youngest members of the community.<\/p>\n<p>Owen said the club\u2019s favorite part of the event is \u201cthe happy smiling faces on the children. They so much appreciate this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Eynon-Archbald Lions Club has 65 members, Owen said. In addition to the annual Easter egg hunt, the club holds a variety of events and activities in service of the community.<\/p>\n<p>In January, the Eynon-Archbald Lions hosted their 11th annual Snowflake Gala, which benefits Leader Dogs for the Blind and the club\u2019s community events.<\/p>\n<p>The Lions conduct Adopt-A-Highway cleanups in the spring and fall, prepare and deliver Thanksgiving meals and distribute hats, scarves and gloves at the Santa Train event in Archbald.
