The Community Blood Bank invites the community to donate blood at a special blood drive on April 2 in the Walnut Creek Middle School from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.<\/p>\n

This blood drive was inspired by baby Aristides or \u201cArty\u201d who had been born prematurely at 33 weeks. Baby Arty\u2019s early arrival was met with difficult medical challenges, that required extensive care and transfusions that ultimately saved his life.<\/p>\n

\u201cStories like Arty\u2019s are a powerful reminder that blood donation is essential,\u201d said Megan Solensky, Community Relations Specialist at Community Blood Bank. \u201cWhether you are a longtime donor or giving for the first time, your contribution provides critical support to patients in our region.\u201d<\/p>\n

Arty\u2019s journey and those with journeys like his can sometimes require lifesaving blood donations. Just one donation can save several lives just as it saved Arty\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Those who are interested in donating will have to call (814) 456-4206 to schedule an appointment.<\/p>\n
