Spring is here and Downtown Scranton<\/a> businesses are ready to celebrate! From thousands of new blooms brightening every corner to seasonal local events, there\u2019s never been a better time to enjoy all the downtown has to offer. Here\u2019s a preview of what\u2019s coming your way:<\/p>\n

Cheers! Let\u2019s Toast to Tomorrow \"AProceeds from A Toast to Tomorrow will support Scranton Tomorrow\u2019s ongoing revitalization efforts in the Downtown Business District. March 26, 6 p.m. at The Colonnade <\/p>\n

Join us on Thursday, March 26, at 6 p.m. at The Colonnade, 401 Jefferson Ave., Scranton, as we sip, swirl and savor the best of the Electric City at A Toast to Tomorrow<\/a>. This premium wine event features wine by Fred Magnotta Wine, food pairings by The Colonnade and POSH Events, a wine pull, basket raffle and more! Proceeds from A Toast to Tomorrow will support Scranton Tomorrow\u2019s<\/a> ongoing revitalization efforts in the Downtown Business District.<\/p>\n

Hop Around Downtown \"FlierParticipating retailers and restaurants in downtown Scranton will showcase spring fashion, basket fillers, themed menus and seasonal specials at the Downtown Hop Around on March 28 from 11 a.m. \u2013 5 p.m. March 28, 11 a.m. \u2013 5 p.m., throughout downtown <\/p>\n

Just in time for Easter, we\u2019re teaming up with downtown Scranton business owners to host Hop Around Downtown on Saturday, March 28 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Participating businesses will showcase spring clothing lines and accessories, basket fillers, themed menus and seasonal specials.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year, we\u2019re excited to feature downtown restaurants in the Hop Around in addition to our retail shops,\u201d said Liz Baldi, business development director. \u201cWe encourage everyone to make a day of it. As part of our commitment to maintain a clean and welcoming downtown, Scranton Tomorrow\u2019s Safe, Clean & Green team<\/a> has organized a series of plantings this spring. Community volunteers and our Downtown Clean Ambassadors will plant more than 15,000 dianthus throughout the business district in April. That\u2019s a lot of blooms!<\/p>\n

\u201cWe maintain 150 planters throughout the downtown,\u201d said Steve Ward, project manager, Safe, Clean & Green program. \u201cThe first plantings of the season are always a joy because after a long winter, we\u2019re all eager for some fresh color in the landscape. Flowers really enhance the natural beauty of the downtown. We appreciate the efforts of Scranton Tomorrow\u2019s on-street ambassadors who keep the downtown clean, and we\u2019re always grateful for our volunteers. Volunteers will participate in dozens of clean-ups, beautification projects, and environmental programs throughout the City of Scranton.
