CHARLOTTE \u2014 The good times are still rolling for the Wilkes-Barre\/Scranton Penguins.<\/p>\n
The Penguins scored four goals Friday night, and keeper Sergei Murashov stopped all 25 shots he faced as the locals picked up a 4-0 win over the Charlotte Checkers at Bojangles Coliseum to stretch their record to 6-0.<\/p>\n
The two teams are back in action Saturday night.<\/p>\n
WBS, Providence and Grand Rapids are the only undefeated teams left in the AHL, while Providence and the Penguins are sitting at the top of the Atlantic Division.<\/p>\n
The Penguins scored 21 goals, and allowed just eight this season. Friday was the team\u2019s first shutout.<\/p>\n
Wilkes-Barre\/Scranton wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as Alex Alexeyev beat the Checker keeper just 1 minute, 26 seconds into the match for the 1-0 lead before Ville Koivunen\u2019s third goal of the year pushed to the lead to 2-0 at the first intermission.<\/p>\n
Danton Heinen added a power-play goal in the second for the 3-0 lead, and Joona Koppanen scored with 13 minutes left to set the final score.<\/p>\n
The Penguins return to Mohegan Arena on Wednesday night to host undefeated Providence, and also have a home Halloween matchup with Bridgeport.
