PITTSBURGH \u2014 Pittsburgh Public Schools celebrated Women\u2019s History Month at Pittsburgh Langley School on Thursday, connecting students with women from a range of career fields to explore their own potential pathways. <\/p>\n
For the fourth year, PPS is hosting \u201cWomen Who Lead,\u201d bridging students and career professionals. <\/p>\n
\u201cContinue to make history, continue to be the legends you are purposed to be,\u201d radio on-air personality Ki Ki B. Jones said.<\/p>\n
Jones is one of the panelists, joining women leading in fields like public relations, education and fashion.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are industries out there who need our young people; we don\u2019t give up on our young people. We just equip them with the resources they need so they can be great leaders,\u201d Jones said.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s an opportunity to look forward and inward.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur students still \u2014 in this very time \u2014 still typecast women into different roles. And so it\u2019s so important that they can see women can do anything and be anything they want,\u201d Superintendent Dr. Wayne Walter said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think one thing that I would say to girls now is that really, the world has changed, and there\u2019s so much opportunity for women now,\u201d Principal Quinci Wasserman said.<\/p>\n
The district also brought the event to Pittsburgh Classical Academy and Pittsburgh CAPA. <\/p>\n
