ALLENTOWN, Pa. (WFMZ) — With Easter next weekend, a Polish market in Allentown is gearing up for what they say is their busiest time of year.<\/p>\n
Since 2004, the Brodowski family has operated a space in the Allentown Farmers Market. Gdynia Polish Market is named after the town in Poland the Brodowskis are from.<\/p>\n
The Easter season is a team effort.<\/p>\n
“We got all our family working with us, all our kids and everything, it’s going to be a lot of people, the market is going to be full. Easter kielbasi, we only make once a year,” said Dariusz Brodowski.<\/p>\n
Brodowski told 69 News people come from all over for their kielbasi and authentic European cuisine. Some travel from as far away as South Carolina and Florida.<\/p>\n
“We do it the old-fashioned way and people love it,” Brodowski stated.<\/p>\n
Customers Michael and Amy Schmoyer could not resist.<\/p>\n
“I was blessed enough to grow up in a Polish household and I haven’t had actual Polish kielbasi in a long time so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to come get it in the perfect place,” Amy Schmoyer explained.<\/p>\n
The pair also stocked up for Easter.<\/p>\n
“Some pierogies, probably ham. We’ll do the whole gamut of stuff,” Michael Schmoyer stated.<\/p>\n
They look forward to sharing the traditional food with their grandchildren Easter Sunday.<\/p>\n
“We purchased it here because we knew that this would be exactly place to get it from,” Amy Schmoyer said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"ALLENTOWN, Pa.
