The Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a>, like every other team across the NFL, are really beginning to ramp up their preparations for the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft<\/a>. Even after making several moves early on this offseason, the Steelers<\/a> still have several areas of need that must be filled across the roster.<\/p>\n

One spot where the Steelers could look to find some help is at the linebacker position, as the team doesn’t have a true partner for Patrick Queen right now. There could be a solution from a school right down the road, as Pittsburgh Panthers linebacker Kyle Louis is one of the top prospects at his position in this draft class. After meeting with the Steelers, it sounds like Louis was encouraged by how his visit went<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was definitely great,” Louis said. “Just seeing it from the other side, they do actually pay attention to a lot of Pitt players and show love to us … It’s a good thing to notice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Louis proved during his time with Pitt that he can do a little bit of everything. In 2025, he racked up 81 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, three pass breakups and one forced fumble. Regardless of what role he fills on the field, Louis can make an impact, which is precisely the sort of player the Steelers need on defense.<\/p>\n

Most projections have Louis coming off the board at some point on Day 2 of the draft, so depending on how the board falls, he could be a perfect target for Pittsburgh. The front office has already gotten a close look at Louis, and that could lead to him staying in town if the Steelers decide to pounce on him when the draft rolls around.<\/p>\n
