PITTSBURGH, PA \u2014 Firearms, ammunition and weapons accessories have been seized in Allegheny County as officials prepare to keep people safe during next month’s NFL Draft. <\/p>\n
The confiscations occurred after an investigation by the county Gun Violence Task Force, according to Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith the NFL Draft on the horizon \u2014 and the expected gathering of hundreds of thousands of football fans in Pittsburgh \u2014 we have collaborated with partners in recent weeks to remove dozens of firearms and dangerous offenders from Western Pennsylvania communities,\u201d Sunday said in a statement.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile this sweep was contained to Allegheny County, we have made significant busts there and in neighboring counties that will go a long way in improving public safety.\u201d<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, agents, along with McKees Rocks Police Department, Allegheny County SWAT, and Allegheny County Housing Authority Police Department, executed a search warrant on Etna Street in McKees Rocks regarding a juvenile posting photographs with numerous firearms on social media.<\/p>\n
Officials found three firearms, one of which was confirmed stolen, magazines and ammunition, as well as marijuana and Ecstacy pills. <\/p>\n
Two minors have been charged. <\/p>\n
On March 19, agents, along with county police, county housing police and the Monroeville Police Department, executed a search warrant on Dorothy Drive in Rankin. A Glock 9mm pistol was seized, along with magazines and ammunition.<\/p>\n
Jailen D. Mitchell, 19, is charged.<\/p>\n

On March 18, agents, Pittsburgh police and SWAT team members, executed a search warrant on Greenbush Street in Mt. Washington and seized two pistols (one reported stolen), and a laser attachment.<\/p>\n
Daonte King, 18, who had an outstanding warrant, is charged.
