Bucks County<\/a> authorities have charged a nurse with child endangerment for allegedly harming a Bensalem 3-year-old for whom she was providing in-home services, according to a criminal complaint filed last week. <\/p>\n

The parents of the child reported Cindy Desser to child welfare authorities after seeing home surveillance video footage in which she \u201csmacked and slammed\u201d the child, who was born early and has \u201cmultiple medical issues,\u201d according to the complaint filed by Bensalem police. <\/p>\n

The child \u201clives with a trachea,\u201d according to the complaint, and one video showed the Desser \u201cpull the trach out\u201d and take \u201cher time putting the trachea back in.\u201d The child could be heard \u201cgasping for air,\u201d and Desser, who was the child\u2019s \u201cnight nurse,\u201d was recorded saying, \u201cYou did this,\u201d the document said. <\/p>\n

An attorney for Desser did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n

The family hired Desser, who lives in Jamison, Pa., through Dynamic Home Health Care, according to the complaint. The company did not respond to a request for comment. <\/p>\n

Desser\u2019s arrest was first reported by 6ABC<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The parents told the channel they wished to remain anonymous. <\/p>\n

\u201cThank God my daughter is so strong,\u201d the mother told 6ABC. \u201cIt was just horrific. I just couldn\u2019t believe it.
