Kate Denney, president of the Crozer-Chester Paramedics Association, said <a href=\"https:\/\/whyy.org\/articles\/suburban-ems-squads-are-hurting-with-staff-shortages-and-financial-issues\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a nationwide staffing shortage<\/a> and Crozer-specific turnover led to the reduction in service.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo when push comes to shove, management has to make decisions on which entities will get filled,\u201d Denney said. \u201cThose entities happen to be the contractual ones \u2014 the ones that we are required to because they are paying services for communities to be served. So in Upper Darby\u2019s sense, as with a lot of other municipalities and locals, EMS has been a free service for a very, very long time.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>Crozer covers a little over half of Delaware County\u2019s advanced and basic life support services.
