With the 2026 NFL Draft less than a month<\/a> away and Free Agency underway\u200a\u2014\u200ait\u2019s all the talk now that the very inception of the Eagle\u2019s 2026 offseason plan begins to take shape<\/a>. What should your Philadelphia Eagles do? A rebuild after the most disappointing<\/a> of seasons or taking a chance of essentially the same nucleus that has won two NFC Championships<\/a> and one Super Bowl in the last four years?\u00a0<\/p>\n

If you think that the Eagles should scrap the core of this current team and build again sacrificing current seasons for future success? That\u2019s not forward-thinking\u200a\u2014\u200ait\u2019s just the wrong choice. Here is why:<\/p>\n

Consider this. In one of the most frustrating seasons in franchise history just months before winning the franchise\u2019s second Super Bowl and fifth World Championship\u200a\u2014\u200awas indeed still was a winning campaign<\/a>. With a stimied offense, mediocre special<\/a> teams play, and their own players questioning the franchise\u200a\u2014\u200athe Eagles still won the NFC East, were 11\u20137, and even had a home playoff game.<\/p>\n

But you still remember February of 2025, right?\u00a0<\/p>\n

They have a core of both young talent and Pro Bowl talent at the same time. It\u2019s not theoretical that they could be successful. They aren\u2019t trying to prove that they can win a Championship<\/a>. They have already won one. It wasn\u2019t<\/a> twleve years ago\u200a\u2014\u200ait was twelve<\/a> months ago.<\/p>\n

And to turn over the roster? Where would we be at the end of all of that? The last nearly complete rebuild<\/a> of the franchise that was successful was Doug Pederson\u2019s tenure utilizing the last memorable, remaining talent from the unmemorable<\/a> Chip Kelly Era<\/a>. The years in between the Super Bowl LII victory<\/a> and an appearance in Super Bowl LVII weren\u2019t so good.<\/p>\n

We aren\u2019t talking about the 1989 Cowboys<\/a>, here. While marquee players like AJ Brown may well be gone by next September<\/a>\u200a\u2014\u200ashuddering top talent for future draft picks wouldn\u2019t just take time. It could take a decade or longer.<\/p>\n

Giving up on last season is understandable. Giving up on this team isn\u2019t just wrong. It\u2019s the wrong direction.<\/p>\n
