BENSALEM, PA \u2014 The mother of a young boy who police said was abused by a home health nurse in Bensalem caught her using surveillance video, police said.<\/p>\n
The nurse, Cindy Desser, 57, of Jamison, has been charged with endangering the welfare of children.<\/p>\n
Police said the young child, who was described as medically fragile, received at-home visits from Desser.<\/p>\n
The mother found multiple video recordings from home surveillance capturing abuse on numerous ocassions, according to authorities. <\/p>\n
In the videos, Desser is seen throwing the child within the crib, striking the child, and sleeping during her shift, police said.<\/p>\n
During one incident, Desser removed the child’s tracheostomy tube and did not immediately reinsert it, causing the child to struggle to breathe, according to officials. <\/p>\n
The child was taken to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for treatment. <\/p>\n
Desser was arrested in Warwick Township on March 25. Bail was set at $2 million and she was booked at Bucks County Correctional Facility. <\/p>\n
