The governor\u2019s visit was originally scheduled for February but was postponed due to inclement weather. It now comes at a time when Erie is preparing for a series of major events leading into 2026, including community celebrations tied to the region\u2019s history, arts, and waterfront.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of planning that\u2019s happening here in the community to have additional celebration\u2026 the art museum, and all these folks that are gonna be part of a huge celebratory event in 2026,\u201d Ferati said.<\/p>\n
Organizers say Shapiro\u2019s appearance helps build momentum and highlights Erie as a hub for civic engagement and community connection.<\/p>\n
