Buglio said Tuesday in a news release. His cause of death was gunshot wounds, and the manner is still under investigation, Buglio said.<\/p>\n<p>Krasnansky was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcall.com\/2026\/03\/26\/man-fired-gun-before-being-fatally-shot-by-police-during-incident-in-lower-saucon-state-police-say\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fatally shot after he discharged a gun that morning, state police have said.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lower Saucon police officers were called to the area for a welfare check on a man who had discharged a gun, according to a news release from state police, which is the lead investigator in the incident.<\/p>\n<p>He discharged his firearm, and a Lower Saucon officer returned fire, but no one was hit, the release states. A state police special emergency response team then arrived and surrounded the home. One of the SERT team members \u201cengaged\u201d Krasnansky and shot him outside the home.<\/p>\n<p>Krasnansky was taken to St. Luke\u2019s University Hospital in Fountain Hill, where he died from his injuries. The incident prompted a shelter-in-place order for residents in the area, and Applebutter Road was closed for several hours while police responded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Authorities have identified a Lower Saucon Township man who was fatally shot last week by police.
