The invitation reflects Cooper\u2019s strong engagement in advancing collaboration between military and civilian trauma systems.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facs.org\/for-medical-professionals\/membership-community\/military-health-system-strategic-partnership\/military-civilian-partnership-portal\/?utm_source=copilot.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">The Bridging Forces portal<\/a> connects military and civilian health care organizations with the shared goal of strengthening trauma care readiness and improving outcomes for patients injured in both civilian settings and combat environments.\u00a0Cooper\u2019s participation follows an extensive evaluation process, including both onsite and written assessments conducted as part of the MHSSPACS.<\/p>\n<p>Through participation in the portal, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.roi-nj.com\/2026\/03\/06\/healthcare\/the-joint-commission-recertifies-cooper-university-hospital-as-advanced-comprehensive-stroke-center\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Cooper<\/a> will collaborate with institutions across the country to expand training opportunities, share best practices, and advance innovative approaches to trauma care. The initiative supports military-civilian partnerships designed to ensure that both military and civilian medical teams are prepared to deliver the highest level of care during critical emergencies.<\/p>\n<p>The benefits of collaboration include improved survival rates through shared protocols and faster access to definitive care; enhanced readiness for military clinicians during peacetime; better disaster response because of interoperable systems; innovation driven by cross\u2011sector learning (e.g., hemorrhage control, rapid evacuation); and global knowledge exchange through multinational studies and partnerships.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMilitary-civilian partnerships are essential to maintaining trauma readiness,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.roi-nj.com\/2026\/03\/05\/healthcare\/cooper-university-health-care-and-drexel-partner-to-expand-nursing-education-access\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Cooper<\/a> trauma surgeon Dr. John Chovanes, founding medical director and chief surgeon of Cooper\u2019s Section of Military, Diplomatic, and Field Surgical Affairs and a colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve Medical Corps.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy working together and sharing knowledge between military and civilian teams, we strengthen our ability to deliver lifesaving care in the most challenging circumstances \u2014 whether on the battlefield or in our communities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The portal also serves as an educational resource to help organizations develop new military-civilian partnerships, identify training opportunities, and strengthen coordination between trauma programs nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>Cooper serves as a Level I Trauma Center for southern New Jersey and is one of the busiest trauma centers in the region.
