The Bethlehem Eagles/Banshees will face off against the Butler Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Bethlehem’s favor as the team sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Butler has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Bethlehem is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Bardstown on Monday as they made off with a 22-2 victory. The Eagles/Banshees might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Avah Waits was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn’t given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter’s box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Taylor Goshorn was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmalee Hettinger, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Bethlehem always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .862. That’s the best OBP they’ve posted all season.

Meanwhile, Butler lost 13-2 to Bullitt East on Monday.

Butler saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracelee Sharp, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Dajmyah Hampton was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

Bethlehem’s win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Butler, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Bethlehem was able to grind out a solid victory over Butler when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 4-0. Will the Eagles/Banshees repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We’ll find out soon enough.

The Bethlehem Eagles/Banshees will face off against the Butler Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
