A locally owned and operated business has received national recognition.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This week, 84 Lumber announced it was named one of Newsweek\u2019s 2026 Most Trustworthy Companies in America<\/a>, marking the third consecutive year the company has earned a spot on the list.<\/p>\n

\u201cWords can\u2019t describe how proud we are to receive this recognition again,\u201d says 84 Lumber owner and CEO Maggie Hardy in a statement. \u201cTrust is the foundation of everything we do at 84 Lumber, from the way we support our associates to the relationships we\u2019ve built with our customers. This honor reflects the integrity of our entire company across all 320 of our locations.\u201d<\/p>\n

The annual list highlights companies that have built strong trust with customers, employees and stakeholders through consistent performance, transparency and reputation, according to a press release. Presented by Statista in partnership with Newsweek, the list recognizes 700 companies across 23 industries that demonstrate exceptional trust.<\/p>\n

Companies were identified through a comprehensive three-step process. First, public and private companies headquartered in the United States with revenues exceeding $500 million were selected for analysis.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Second, an independent survey of 25,000 U.S. residents generated more than 101,000 company evaluations across three key areas of trust: customer trust, investor trust and employee trust.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Finally, social listening analysis examined more than 300,000 mentions. Companies involved in significant scandals or lawsuits were excluded from consideration.<\/p>\n

The resulting rankings highlight companies that consistently demonstrate credibility, strong relationships and positive reputations across multiple channels.<\/p>\n

The building materials manufacturer based in Eighty Four earned the 8th slot <\/a>within the Materials & Chemicals category.\u00a0<\/p>\n

U.S. Steel, headquartered in Pittsburgh, was also ranked among the top 10 companies in the same category, coming in 9th.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In March, it was also named one of the World\u2019s Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere<\/a>, a global leader in advancing ethical business practices. U.S. Steel is a five-time honoree and the only honoree in the \u201cMetals, Minerals & Mining\u201d category.<\/p>\n
