ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A civil lawsuit alleges Dorney Park is liable after an employee allegedly raped a girl off of park grounds in 2021.<\/p>\n
According to the lawsuit, the victim who was 15, met 22-year-old Anthony Casio at Dorney Park’s Haunted Halloween in September of that year.<\/p>\n
It’s alleged Casio pretended to be 17, befriended the girl, and exchanged social media contact information.<\/p>\n
Casio allegedly continued their friendship pretending to be 17.<\/p>\n
According to the lawsuit, on multiple occasions, he inappropriately touched the girl, manipulating her into thinking the interactions were harmless fun.<\/p>\n
The lawsuit says the complaint alleges Casio met the girl at an Emmaus hotel in October of 2021 where he became physically aggressive and raped her.<\/p>\n
According to the law firm filing the suit, Casio pleaded guilty to statutory sexual assault and corruption of minors. Lehigh County court records confirm Casio pleaded guilty to both those charges in 2023.<\/p>\n
Claims of negligence, negligent hiring, and negligent supervision and retention are being asserted against Dorney Park and its parent companies.<\/p>\n
According to the lawsuit, prior to working at Dorney Park, Casio had a history of sexual misconduct including a prior sexual assault charge.<\/p>\n
The law firm says despite this, Casio was hired, placed in a position of trust, and allowed him to work in close proximity with minors.<\/p>\n
