CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) \u2014 A Pennsylvania man pleaded guilty to murder of the third degree for shooting and killing his friend over a video game, according to the district attorney\u2019s office.<\/p>\n
Chester County District Attorney\u2019s Office said Holden Hoffsis, of Phoenixville, was then sentenced to spend between 12 and a half to 25 years in state prison by Judge Sarah Black.<\/p>\n
Daniel Gray, 22, was fatally shot in the chest Nov. 8, just before 3:30 a.m.,<\/a> by Hoffsis while they were playing Fortnite, the DA\u2019s office said. Hoffsis had just lost a round right before shooting Gray.<\/p>\n \u201cThis was a difficult and emotional case,\u201d Chester County District Attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe said. \u201cI am proud of the investigators and prosecutors who worked with Mr. Gray\u2019s family to hold the Defendant accountable for this senseless murder.\u201d<\/p>\n Pennsylvania man sentenced for threatening to kill election official, use their skin as toilet paper <\/a><\/p>\n After losing, Hoffsis stood up, faced Gray, held his arm out, put the gun to Gray\u2019s chest, said \u201cbang,\u201d and pulled the trigger, according to the DA\u2019s office.<\/p>\n Gray was pronounced dead at the scene along Westhorpe Lane in Phoenixville. The DA\u2019s office said he had a gunshot wound to the middle of his chest.<\/p>\n The DA\u2019s office says Hoffsis took a revolver out of his gun safe and was loading and unloading it while he and Gray were playing Fortnite. Gray and Hoffsis also drank alcohol, smoked marijuana, and ingested cocaine during the night.<\/p>\n
